Background

eBahn Reader is designed for use on 32 bit environments (sometimes referred to as x32). It is not an "x64" application.

eBahn Reader installed and works on both:

  • my 32-bit Home Premium Vista laptop (dual processor amd) and on
  • my 64-bit Vista Ultimate (dual processor intel)

Each have different firewall, spam and antivirus programs and they were active throughout the install and afterward during the use phase.

32-bit required going to properties and checking the "run as administrator box" and herein lies the DIFFERENCE between the two installs.
The "run as administrator box" was grayed out and not available on the 64-bit version.
However, selecting "XP Service Pack 2 compatibility mode" allowed the reader to open and the program appears to run perfectly... so far.
No other compatability items needed to be checked. To be clear, in the 32-bit install, I did NOT need to activate the XP mode... run as admin was sufficient.
